What is a good digital scale to buy?
My doctor’s scale is going nuts and I don’t have one at home. How to find a good scale?
My doctor just told me that I gained 40 lbs since my last visit… a week ago XD Needless to say I’m mildly offended and worried. I go to that doctor to keep track of my health, and apparently they don’t care enough to calibrate a scale to help me do that.
What is the best at home scale you can think of? It’s obvious that my doctor is full of it. I’ve had to go almost weekly for bloodwork lately and the weights have been as follows for the last month. 140,150, 135, and today he said 180.
I’m trying to loose weight, and would like to track my progress. What kind of scale do I need to get that won’t pull that on me?

i\’m 5\’2 and weight 98 lbs? is this normal?
i’ve always been skinny my whole life, no matter what i eat i’m always slim. i just got myself a digital scale and it says 98.6 (or well 99) i’m scared it might be something. ever since i started college i’ve been losing weight; i’ve been having to walk alot more since i don’t have a car. i dont starve myself at all i eat normal (grains, vegetables, fruits, chicken, dairy) i’ve gotten blood tests too about a year ago after i started losing the weight and everything came back fine. what can i do? do NOT tell me to eat more.

a question about my weight scales…..?
alright so i am a 21 yr old male. i have two scales. one digital and analogue or dial scale. i use them ot weigh myself. alright the digital scale which is a taylor lithium gives me 293 as my weight and the dial scale gives me 300 exact. it confuses me. which one do you think is the more accurate scale. and one mor thing ive been trying to lose weight recently. so i need approx 3500 to 4000 cals a day ot maintain my weight probably a little more, alright so i eat approx 2000 cals a day with excersise. since ive been doing this my digital scale says somedays that ive lost 2 to 3.5 pounds some days. is this possible?

Physics problems..please help. dont even how to start the problem?
1) What is wrong with the road sign: Memphis 7 miles (11.263 km) ?
2) Force F has units of kg m/s2 . The force of gravity between at object of mass M and a second object of mass m separated by a distance r is given by F=-GMm/ r2 , where G is the gravitational constant. What are the units of G.
3) A man of mass M steps on an analog scale. His mass is measured to an accuracy ?M. A second man
of mass m uses a different scale. Here his mass m is measured to an accuracy of ?m.
(a) Assuming that the two measurements errors are random and uncorrelated (i.e. how well we can read the scale lines on the scale) what is the error in the quantity Mtotal = m + M.
(b) Now they both step on the same digital scale that can be read very precisely. However, there is a
calibration uncertainty of 1% in the scale’s readout. What is the systematic error in Mtotal=m+M that results form the uncertainty in the calibration of the scale.
4)Force F has units of kg m/s2 . The electric force between an object of
charge Q and a second object of charge q separated by a distance r is given by F= k Qq/ r2 , where k is a constant. In order to determine the charge of q, the electric force between the two charges is
measured to accuracy ?F, Q is known to a accuracy of ?Q, and r is known to an accuracy ?r.
Assuming that all these errors are uncorrelated, what is the fractional error in the determination of q
(Fractional error = is ?q/q ) . Start with q= F r2/ (kQ)

How do I calibrate my digital scale?
I recently got a Digital hand scale from a friend of mine, it just need calibration. It says “Digital Hand Scale” on the back. The buttons I have are “Tare” “Mode” and “On and Off”
Here are some pics

My friend said it might be a “digi weigh”? I dont know how to calibrate, I went to a shop. They said that I didnt have to use a weight of 500 grams, he told me to use a 50 weight?
Which is more accurate a digital or regular scale?

Which is more accurate a digital or regular scale?
My digital scale reads 2-3 more pounds heavier than the regular one. I also make sure that the non digital scale is directly on zero before I weigh myself, so why am I getting different readings and which one should I take as my true weight?
What’s up with the gym scales? Could they be rigged or broken?

What\’s up with the gym scales? Could they be rigged or broken?
I’m on a diet (a healthy diet of 1300-1400 calories a day, and is made up of healthy and nutritious food) and I’m a member of Spark People. Lately I have been having trouble tracking my weight loss. I weigh myself every morning after going to the toilet and before eating my breakfast. The scales I use at home is an over decade old analog scales. That scale I know to be about a kilo off. This one says I weigh about 56kg and has shown that I have consistently lost about 500g per week. This is not the scales I am having trouble with. Until recently, the gym scales have been showing me a reading 1.5kg (with the extra 500g being the food I have eaten throughout the day) heavier than the one at home. But lately the digital gym scales have been giving me very strange readings indeed. On Tuesday I was shocked when it gave me a reading of 58.24kg! Over half a kilo heavier than it should have been and the home scales showed no weight increase at all! The next day I weighed myself at the gym and weighed exactly 57.60kg, which is what it should be. I weighed myself yesterday at the gym and I was back up to 58.24kg and again the home scales showed no increase! What is up with the gym scales?!?! It can’t be water retention, the old analog one should have picked up the increase as it had before when I was suffering from it. It can’t be extra muscle either, I have been working out for a while now and I think I have gained the extra muscle ages ago. I am losing a lot of weight. My waist used to be over 82cm and it is about 68cm now. My new size 12 gym pants don’t fit anymore, they feel loose and they threaten to slip down during aerobics even when I tie them up tight. Also, the gym scales have only been doing this for less than a week. Could the digital scales be rigged or broken? It’s right next to a water cooler and people have been spilling a lot of water lately, would that do it? Everyone at the gym uses it, too. Maybe it’s over used?
PS
They have a new set of scales now, a medical style analog one with sliding weights. Maybe people have been making complaints about the digital scales! Anyway…. I’m not sure if I’m using it right, but that one gives me a reading of about 57.5-57.6kg. So it must be the digital one that is the problem.
