Where Can I Find a Rare Earth Neodymium Magnet in Southern California?
looking for a store that sells them, im looking for a strong magnet. already looked in michaels and joannes, any other ideas?

why are Rare earth magnets brittle?
why are Rare earth magnets brittle?
Such as Neodymium and Samariam based magnets?
I have bee googling around for some time with no luck.
What about the composition of these magnets makes them so prone to cracking?
Thank you

Magnets and copper coil – "creating electricity"?
hello to all,
I have been contemplating a personal project for a while now which essentially is based upon the theory of transferring electricity using magnets and copper coils. although without spending a small fortune and going through a very long trial and error process i was hoping someone on here may be able to help……..i cant upload pictures so please bare with me as i try to explain the design.
I am looking at creating a cylinder to create the electric, (a rotating drive from both sides of the cylinder spinning what are effectively two vertical disks, one on each end of the cylinder. (a similar shape to a dumbbell bar with a Weight on either side) the centre shaft will contain a matrix of coiled copper wire and i plan to use long cylinder shape magnets surrounding the centre shaft. the centre shaft will remain still and the side disks and with it the magnets will spin.)
i apologize for the lengthy explanation a picture really would say a thousand words!
I have been unable to find a company that can make custom size magnets so if i was to use “rare earth magnets” and simply use several along side each other, what impact would this have on the magnetic field?
The drive shafts will be spinning in excess of 3000 revs per min or probably more,
Are they any safety implications to consider here?
is there any specific type or thickness of copper coil that works best for this purpose?
are rare earth magnets going to improve the magnetic field?
many thanks for your help i only posted this after hours of trying to find the info online with no luck any links to pages, sites or even books on this subject would be great many thanks
do magnets affect flat screens?

do magnets affect flat screens?
well i was looking at my computer screen, and one of my neodymium magnets was on my desk and i was wondering if it would mess up a flat screen?
