Spyder 3 krypton laser pointer?
I am crazy about lasers and I am thinking of getting a new laser pointer I am in the uk and am thinking of buying a spyder 3 krypton and am just wandering if it is a good choice, if not tell me why, if so tell me why and will the 300mw one still burn through plastic and light paper on fire. So please any comments are accepted.

I know that a green laser (532mW) is usually a IR (1064mW) passed through a crystal that cuts it down half. Is it possible to put two of these crystals in series and produce a 260mW beam, and so on. What problems would you face as you go down the spectrum? Thanks

I was using this approach because true UV laser can be very expensive and you cant really buy a soft X-ray laser. It seems that you could be able to get up to soft x-rays with this system possibly full x-rays with powerful equipment.

best sights for a 12gauge shotgun.?
I have a moss berg 590 and I am looking for a green laser sight that will stand up to recoil, and runs on regular batteries or is rechargeable and can mount on a weaver rail. I am also looking for a holographic dot sight that will also hold up to recoil and stay sighted in rechargeable or regular batteries as well.
I am getting a recoil reducing stock with raised cheek piece and reviewers say bead sight is useless with this I could probably figure out how to compensate for this with muscle memory but I want a holographic sight for long range slug shooting. The laser is just for nighttime target acquisition without completely giving away your position. If an attacker is in your home and is hell bent on killing you if you have a flashlight on your gun he knows exactly where to aim. The laser is a smaller less noticeable target area, It is also a deterrent in itself if someone has a laser on you while your holding their new flat screen you would think twice before going for your gun.

How to find the coefficient of friction of golf ball-surface?
We set up a lab like this :
We have a golf ball and a whiffle ball, and three separate surfaces. Using a laser pointer and a light sensor, we were able to find the initial velocity by calculating the speed at which the ball blocked the laser from the sensor traveling along the surface. We calculated the distance it when along the surface as well.
Example – Golf Ball (.0459 kg and 1.5 in diameter) along putting green surface
Initial Velocity : 29.45738 in/sec
Duration: 0.0508927 sec
Distance: 16 in.
We were given these equations
Total Kinetic Energy = Translational + Rotational = ½ mv^2 + ½ I w^2
Rotational frequency: w= v/R
For sphere: I = 2/5 m R^2
Substitute eqns 2 & 3 into eqn 1:
(initial velocity)
KE i = 7/10 m v i 2
When object stops: (final)
KEf = W S f = (mg) S f
Combine eqns 4 & 5 to get:
f = 7 v i 2 / 10*g*S
Where:
v i = ft/s
S = ft
g= 32.2 ft / s2
Im not good with this stuff, so please help me out.

Do all colors of light refract in the same manner?
I know that when white light is refracted through a prism, it breaks down into all the colors. But what about different colors of light, like a red or green laser?
