I live on Long Island but am aware that NYC law is more restricting. I’m prone to carrying a pocket knife everywhere including to my job in my suit. Is it legal for me to carry the below on my person:

It is not a gravity knife; it is impossible to be flicked or dropped open. This includes holding the blade as opposed to the handle in a closed position, and attempting to flick it open with your wrist.

I am a knife collector, but pretty much only shop online. Does anybody know of any knife stores in chicago or the suburbs? I did search google but pretty much all that comes up is northwestern cutlery; which is a great place for kitchen cutlery, but I’m looking more for folding knives and hunting/survival type knives. Any help is much appreciated.

i have ring worm on my arm i hasd the stupid idea of putting small cuts in it and put alchohol on it and see if i could make it go away.. stupid.. i used a pocket knife.. wasent rusty or very dirty at all.. should i be worried about tetnes? nearest hospital is 1 houre away anything i hsould watch for? noticing my stupid idea i sqeezed it and was rinsing it out it barley bled at all.. just tiny small cuts..

I am looking for a pocket knife in the $0-$75 range for daily carrying. I want something that holds a good edge and is durable. Do you have any suggestions?

I’m looking for a good knife for self defense as well as a utility knife. I’m a 17 year old girl and my job requires me to work alone at night outside. Even though there is a manager on the property, she’s usually in her house not paying attention to whats going on outside. So I keep a bat in my truck, a noisemaker in my pocket and a blade on my hip usually, but the blade is hard to open and mostly for practical things. In other words, it would not serve me well in the event of an attack or something like that. I normally wouldn’t be worried about it but well we our neighbors didn’t like that we confronted them about hunting illegally on our land. I’m very comfortable with guns and knives because I’m one of those country girls but I just don’t know what kind would be best.

SO… any suggestions for a good, practical and sturdy boot or neck knife? Thanks!
Jeff- I have lol I’m actually a really good fighter (I have 4 brothers that taught me haha) One of my brothers taught me MCMATs when he got out of boot camp the only thing is that I’m on the short side even though I can throw a punch I couldn’t pin them.
I work with horses (and people) at an equestrian facility so firearms are right out of the question and there is NO way the boarders would be ok with that. It would be too easy to have an accident and too bulky. I’ve thought about a pepper spray gun. Any thoughts on that?

This actually happened a couple days ago. I was at a club & ~ 1 hour into it I just wanted to leave. I was with friends in their car so I couldn’t. I walked at a nearby outdoor mall where they only had resturaunts open. I ate a burger & noticed some bums were scoping me out. When I left to go back to the club it was ~3AM & they called me out while I was walking back. I saw like 4-5 of them, I started running & they were actually running after me. I had a pocket knife but I just wanted to avoid confrontation all together. If they had caught up to me & mugged me unarmed or with sticks & rocks but I fought back with a knife, killing them. Would this be considered a self defense kill? Since I had a knife & they probably didn’t but out numbered me? This happens alot in Miami Beach.

I have this Ka-Bar folding knife, it’s quite beautiful, I did not buy it originally, and the tip is grinded down so it’s lost it’s point. On the blade it says “KA-BAR Tactical Series III Limited Edition”. I’d like to know more about this series as I have not found much on the topic. Is it a legitimate KA-BAR? What do they cost new? And pretty much any extra info on the series or other KA-BAR info. All is appreciated.

Question says it all. Like you might have a pocket knife or a survival knife that has serrations, but for what? Cut backs for saws rarely work but why does the last 2 inches of the knife towards the hilt have to be serrated, it just gets in my way!
