Need help modding PSP!!!?

So I have the psp 2000 Daxter Edition and was hoping to mod it. I pulled it out of my bedroom and thought i might as well give it a try. I want a method that doesnt involve a pandora battery or a magic memory stick. My current firmware is on 6.31, i can update to 6.39. This is North American version and i am not sure what firmware it was installed with. A link to a straight forward tutorial would be great. Only give me a link that has been confirmed to work on my psp!!!!! (I’m more of an iphone/Ipod geek which is why i need help with this)
