Going to do jimi hendrix for a class paper, Good idea?

I was going to do Bob dylan but i love Jimi Hendrix’s style of music, Hes considerded to be the best guitarist right? But my teacher want’s us to do it on some one who had a great impact on society or history, like the presidents’ and such, Would he be a good person to wright about and present in class? And what has he done to be so great? Info links would be really helpfull, Thanks!
