Is this 540i bmw worth it?
Saturday im finally purchasing the bmw i wanted. It’s 1998 540i v8 with 100k miles.
Has a full B&B exhaust, Coilovers, 18′ deep dish rims- new tires. Big brake upgrade- new.
It is a 6 spd, leather interior,tints, hid lights, Hamann spoiler, after market sway bar, flip out stereo, after market intake..
The bad: 2nd gear pops out at low rpms but if you shift into 2nd at high rpms it never does.. It only pops out sometimes in low rpm, i test drove it all is fine. Lower conrol arm is pretty much gone. Cars completely driveable, wheel moves a bit. & Theirs a slight, faint, barely audible tick in one of the heads which i guess is the lifter..
This guy is my cousins freind and he tells me everything about the car.. He’s always driving it, and its very smooth, didnt pop out on me, but i guess it does once in a while.
He’s asking 4k, which is a very good price. the car kbb’s for like 8k.
Would you guys say its worth it?
