For those of you out there who have put together an emergency survival kit, I’m just wondering what all you have in it. I’m putting together one of my own. So far I have…
first aid kit consisting of bandages, antibacterial ointment, pain killers, medical tape, gauze, cotton balls, q-tips, chap stick, latex gloves
2 filtration masks
2 emergency blankets
2 trash bags
funnel
compass and whistle
100% deet spray
water purification tablets
2 bic lighters, 1 butane lighter, strike anywhere matches in waterproof container, magnesium striker (gotta have fire lol)
sharpie marker and notepad
LED flashlight
AM/FM/Shortwave Radio
I’m currently in the market for a new multi-tool and a fixed blade knife. I’m thinking of getting a Buck 119 for my fixed. Any recommendations for a knife, multitool, or anything else in general are more than welcome. Please no comments about me being paranoid. When hurricane Katrina hit there were few who were prepared and thousands that weren’t.
