Why does my pokemon platinum save file keep getting corrupted?

Why does my pokemon platinum save file keep getting corrupted?
Everytime I save my game, and then go to play it again it always says “save file corrupted, returning you to the last save” or somthing like that and i don’t know whats wrong with it. Also it is on an r4 card…if that helps out with anything, Please help?
