OOOOHHHHH
i just did a paper on this
actually, i was shocked when i found out more kids are adopted domestically than internationally
PROS of international adoption
1. in china specifically, the process is steady and stable, so you know what to expect
2. once you have an approved home study, you are practically guaranteed a child
3. there are plenty of children to adopt
4. their birth parents can’t change their mind about allowing a family to adopt their child b/c the children are already orphans
5. you know (more or less) what the costs will be before you ever begin the process
CONS of international adoption
1. lots of paperwork to fill out
2. won’t get a newborn child…youngest is a few months old
3. might not know or find out birth parents’ medical history
4. birth mother usually never had prenatal care
5. child may never find birth parents
6. have to travel to another country
7. can only adopt one child at a time
Pros of domestic adoption (adopting american kids in america)
1. affordable cost due to cheap price on travel and less paperwork
2. little or no travel required
3. able to adopt a newborn
4. child has more access to birth parents
5. able to find out more of the child’s medical background
CONS of domestic adoption
1. requirements to adopt are strict and qualifications are high
2. birth parent(s) choose(s) who they want as the adoptive family
3. not a huge selection of children
4. possibility that the biological mother may change her mind or refuse to give up her child for adoption
5. birth fathers are rarely involved in the adoption and therefore birth father medical background is scarce
So many parents base their decision to adopt in the U.S. or other countries off of these pros and cons….it’s whatever floats their boat
With celebrities like Angelina Jolie, they may like exotic places and children, and usually, the people there welcome them w/ open arms, and it seems like they get their kids quicker just because they’re celebrities. Not to mention, they get more hype w/ a child from other countries, but w/ American children, it’s just another American to the gossip magazines.

im pretty sure she does… but here in america the kids that have no parents and no guidance aleast have food to eat and a roof over thier heads…
kids in third world countries such as Africa dont have that…
compare a kid from the states to a kid in ANY third world country and you tell me who is living a better life…
not that the life that they are livinis all that great… but….
and keep in mind that there is always someone out there in the world that is doing a lil better than you are…

I think how Angelina Jolie decides to spend her own money and whom SHE decides to adopt is NOT up for debate!
Who is anyone to even SUGGEST to her, whom she SHOULD adopt! THAT’S almost the same as telling anyone who they SHOULD or SHOULDN’T marry or date or be friends with!
Seriously, why would you question anyone’s PERSONAL choice, especially with regards to their OWN personal family?
I think any criticism of one’s personal choice is a true sign of arrogance & ignorance!
Be thankful, they CARE ENOUGH to even CHOOSE to adopt! Few others (including this Asker) would even consider adoption over having children of their own!

sorry she has done some good instead of taking one child she could have paid for hundreds in fact 1000000 thousand dollars in rice would feed a 3, million people
